The latest in our range of creatures is this happy, snappy crocodile called Claudia. Would you like to know how to make her? Follow the instructions below to make your own Claudia! You will need green paper or card, a cardboard tube, a pair of scissors, some glue and a black pen to draw in the details. On Friday, we will make the penultimate safari animal, Zena the Zebra! Happy making! TTFN! - Pixie Rae x PS: It's worth pointing out that these don't have to be perfect. Our instructions are to as closely represent the crocodile we made as possible. Feel free to play around with the basic shapes and have fun with it! Would you like to buy us a coffee?
We believe that quality education is a human right and should be free for all, no matter who you are or where you come from. Our content is, and always will be, free for children to use and for you to share (please do credit us!) but it is not free to make. If you do feel that you would like to say thank you by buying us a 'coffee' then that would still be very much appreciated. We will use any coffee money raised to replenish our equipment and improve the reach of our services to ensure that all children receive the creative education they deserve. Good morning, everyone! Here is the latest animal to join our colourful safari of creative creatures, Hercule the Hippo. Scroll down to learn how to make him! Once again, to make Hercule the Hippo you will need a cardboard tube, glue, scissors and coloured paper or card. After painting your tube purple or wrapping it in purple paper, follow the instructions below. Come back later in the week to make the fourth animal in our safari collection, Claudia the Crocodile!
Enjoy! - Pixie Rae x Now you've seen how to make Elsie the Elephant, why not have a go at making her safari friend, Linus the Lion! To make Linus, you will need: a cardboard tube (we used toilet roll inners but you can use kitchen roll tubes cut in half if you'd prefer), coloured paper or paint, a pen, and glue. Why not experiment with different mane styles. Try curling your paper like I did (we did this by using extra long strips so that they would loop back on themselves), or maybe try using felt! You could even remove the mane completely and add two ears to make a lioness!
Next time, we will make Hercule the Hippo! TTFN! -Pixie Rae x Over the next few days, we will create a safari park of colourful animals. Today, we will look at how to make Elsie the Elephant! You will need a cardboard tube, paint, paper and a pen. If you enjoyed this activity, you may want to make the whole family! You could add tusks or make a tiny baby elephant!
If you pop back soon, you will see how to make our next safari animal, Linus the Friendly Lion! Happy making! - Pixie Rae x Now you have made Hattie the hen, why not make her mischievous band of chicks? Follow the instructions below. You can repeat the process to make several chicks in a variety of colours and sizes. You can also make the eggs. Why not attach them all to a ribbon and make yourself a set of Easter Chick bunting?
Continuing our under the sea theme, have a go at making our hypnotic spinning jellyfish, Jasmine! You will need coloured paper or card, tissue paper, glue, a piece of wool or string and a pair of scissors. Follow the instructions and when you are done, be sure to hang your jellyfish in a good spot where the breeze will catch her. I find the spiral patterns mesmerising and I could watch them all day!!! Be sure to share your creations by emailing us using the details on our contact page.
TTFN, Pixie Rae x Why not design your own die using our free PDF template? Be careful to draw the correct number of items in each box, then cut out and assemble. We used a nature theme for ours, but you could create one inspired by your hobbies, your favourite foods or outer space. Greenhouse Learning has even challenged children to make an under the sea themed dice!

If you don't want to get messy with finger paint, you could always make prints with a cotton bud or the end of a pencil instead. Let us know how you get on. If you want to, you can use the peacock template below to help you.
